Purpose of the Leo Convention
Our annual convention for all of the Leos in the State of HI will be held on March 19-21, 2016 at Kilauea Military Camp (KMC) on the Island of Hawai'i. The location of convention generally follows that year's District 50 Lions Convention, however sometimes exceptions are made due to cost and location. Great opportunity to meet Leos from Hawai'i, Maui, Moloka'i, O'ahu, and Kaua'i! Learn about more service opportunities, trade fundraising ideas, have fun, and make lifelong friends!
Being in the Leo Club organization means being a part of something larger than yourself. To be connected to your local and global community. To do this, we encourage all clubs to join us at least once a year by attending the District Convention. The very basis of this event is to allow Leos from across the state a chance to network and build new friendships while sharing service ideas and addressing issues as a a team. Clubs can exchange contact info and perhaps work on projects together in the future. Veteran members can help offer advice to newer members and guide them to becoming better leaders.
The Convention is generally held on the island that the current District Governor for the District 50 Lions. However, exceptions are sometimes made if accommodations are not readily available or that particular island does not have an active Leo Club.
Awards are presented to some of our outstanding Leos, Club Presidents, and those clubs who have gone above and beyond the call of service during the year. Also, during Convention, we elect our District Officers. Learn more about the responsibilities and how to run for a District position here.
